Weekend!

Y'know those weekend things? Y'know how normal teenagers actually find stuff to do on the weekends other than get on their mom's laptop and blog about the life they don't have? Well, y'know... guess what I'm doing this weekend? Getting on my mom's laptop and blogging about the life I don't have.

I keep trying to make myself think that it isn't my lack of a life, but my extreme surplus of one that gets me into these non-social weekends. That's just me trying to think that I'm actually... y'know, normal. I do so many activities (Cross country, student council, student ambassadors, theatre, CYO, etc.) that I hardly ever have free weekends. It's usually on weekends during which I have some sort of commitment that people want to make plans with me. And on weekends like this, when I'm free, nobody else is. That means I get stuck blogging about the life I don't have.

Updates on my life.

Well, my last post expressed ambitions for a certain part in A Midsummer Night's Dream. I didn't get that part. I did get a bigger part, which I'm okay with. I'm Lysander. I'm flattered that I got casted in such a big role, even if Bottom would've have been worlds more fun.

I'm kicking ass in cross country. Not really. I mean... I'm doing really well for me. I'm not beating anybody I haven't beaten before, but I am beating my previous times almost every race now. Meet tomorrow, and I'm running in the top 12. That'll be exciting.

NaNoWriMo's coming soon, and I'm totally pumped about my idea. I have a new blog that I'll be using in the month of November. Here we go, http://svh-bandits.blogspot.com. The novel's called The SuperValueHouse Bandits at this point, and I'm really excited about it. I'll be blogging about the progress of the novel there come November.

I recently discovered Facebook. And I saw that it was good.

And last but not least, I've been writing lots of stuff lately, as in my other kind of writing, as in not blogging or homework, but fiction and poetry. Check out my FictionPress account for all that neato stuff.

I'm off to surf the rest of the web. Nighty night.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Bottom

Auditions for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream start tomorrow at school. I decided I'm aiming for the role of Nick Bottom. Info on Mr. Bottom is available at the address above. Click. Learn. If you want.

The race this past weekend

I was finally able to get some cross country spikes (Thanks, Mom!) and just in time for this weekend's race. I knocked 45 seconds off my P.R., which is... GOOD.

I already gave a Mattquote today, so this isn't "Mattquote of the day" or "Today's Mattquote." Just a Mattquote that is witty enough to put up here but not witty enough to gain a title like "Today's Mattquote."

[Pre-Mattquote explanation: My school's daily announcements say who did the best in each race for our school and then go into a thing where they say "Also performing well were {blah}, {blah}, and {blah}."]

Mattquote:

Why wasn't I on the announcements? I beat my P.R. by 45 seconds. Also performing well? Obviously not Matt Armato. I'm 45 seconds faster, dammit! I also performed well! I just wanted my name on the announcements. I don't ask for much.

After a stress-filled weekend, I'm back on my feet.

Well... I'm at least on my hands and knees at this pont. I wouldn't consider not finishing any homework and forgetting to turn my cell phone off before class to be "on my feet."

Today's Mattquote:

Madame... my mother wants me to give you the phone. So she can talk to you.

The phone rang in the middle of French class. I wasn't mad at my mom for calling me during school... I made the mistake of forgetting to put my phone off and in my locker. I was mad at my mom for trying to get me out of trouble by playing the our- house- flooded- and- Matthew- is- not- completely- focused- because- we- have- eleven- people- living- in- my- brother's- house card. And I didn't get in trouble.

I feel like a cheater.

October 1st's Mattquote of the Day

It's October! I love October! It's my favorite month!
Yes! October at last. As shown by today's Mattquote, October is my favorite month. I probably told everybody whom I encountered today that it was finally the month from which I receive the most happiness.

Happy October, everyone. From me.
